Exploring New Technologies in Agriculture
An online seminar on vertical farming was held at the Agrotechnological Faculty. The speaker was Arizona University graduate student Eric Jackett. He shared insights on the application of new technologies in agriculture with students, faculty members of Kozybayev University, as well as farmers from the region. Eric shared deep knowledge and the latest research in aeroponic and hydroponic systems, highlighting their relevance and practical value in the modern world.
Vertical farming is a relatively new technology where plants are grown indoors rather than on traditional soil. The main advantage is the ability to produce crops year-round, regardless of weather conditions and seasons, through control of heat, light, air, and humidity.
At the end of the seminar, the speaker answered questions from the audience. This knowledge exchange opportunity was made possible thanks to the visit of the Agrotechnological Faculty leadership to the Controlled Environment Agriculture Center at Arizona University. Plans include official professional certification of students in controlled environment agriculture, biosystems analytics, related technologies, alternative energy, and more.
