Joint research projects of the Department of Transport and Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Transport and Mechanical Engineering continues to actively cooperate with the leading industrial enterprises of the city in the field of research and applied activities. In the reporting period, two significant projects were implemented aimed at improving the reliability of energy equipment and developing transport infrastructure.
IRN AR14869177 project "Development and implementation of a new high-performance mobile railway complex with resource-saving technology for laser restoration of railway wheel sets", head Savinkin V.V., Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, implementation period 2022-2024

Together with the enterprises of the city
• A concept has been developed for a complex that provides on-site diagnostics and repairs.• Modern technologies of surfacing, hardening and subsequent machining have been introduced.• An experimental model has been created, including a machine tool module, measuring equipment and a quality control system.• An assessment of economic efficiency has been carried out, confirming a reduction in repair costs and an increase in rolling stock life.

IRN AR23484701 project "Development of laser technology for manufacturing combined turbine blades of high-wear-resistant CHP plants modified with zirconium dioxide of the Industry 4.0 concept based on ISO/ASTM", head Ratushnaya T.Yu., PhD, implementation period 2024-2026

As part of the cooperation with PSG Alternative LLP, new design solutions for low-pressure turbine blades are being developed.
• Experimental samples were produced using selective laser melting (SLM) technologies.• Studies of the effect of heat treatment modes on the structure and durability of the material have been conducted.• Recommendations have been prepared for the implementation of innovative solutions in the repair and production processes of thermal power plants.

International cooperationAs part of the implementation of scientific projects, the department actively develops international cooperation. Foreign scientists from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Siberian Automobile and Road University (SibADI) were involved in the work. Joint research is aimed at developing additive manufacturing technologies, improving the reliability of energy and transport equipment, as well as introducing best practices into the educational process. Scientists from the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University (Romania) have also joined the projects, contributing to the development of research in the field of mechanical engineering and transport. research on the digitalization of machine-building processes and the introduction of innovative technologies.

Results and prospectsThe results of joint projects are of high practical importance. The developed innovations will improve the reliability of thermal power plants and increase the service life of railway transport. In the future, the department plans to expand cooperation with industrial enterprises, focusing on digital technologies for monitoring the condition of equipment, in-situ control systems and the creation of new heat-resistant materials.
