30 Years of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan: A Course Towards Unity and Stability

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, whose creation was a logical continuation of the country's initial course towards strengthening stability, unity, and harmony in Kazakhstani society, and preserving the unique culture of more than 130 ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan. The Assembly has contributed to the development and implementation of state policy on ensuring public harmony and nationwide unity, fostering Kazakhstani patriotism, and developing the state language and the languages of other ethnic groups.

A Student Assembly was established at Kozybaev University in August of this year, and students of our university are also members of the Republican Public Association "Assembly Zhastary". For more than 10 years, the university has had a Department of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, which carries out multi-vector work on implementing state programmes aimed at fostering civic identity and Kazakhstani patriotism among students. Yesterday, the university hosted a meeting of students with representatives of the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republican Council for Ethno-mediation of the APK within the framework of the special project "Eldesu zhäne tatulasu" (Reconciliation and Mediation).

"Speaking at the XXXIV session of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the APK, the Head of State emphasised that strengthening interethnic harmony and stability has been and will always be one of the main directions of our state policy. Against the backdrop of large-scale conflicts and trade wars, we increasingly value peace, without which there can be no development. Our country has established a sustainable system aimed at preserving peace, tolerance, friendship, and unity," noted Kairat Baimuldinov, Head of the Sector of the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
