75 Years of an Inspiring Journey

Kozybayev University celebrated the 75th anniversary of the outstanding scholar, educator, and thinker Alexandr Vladimirovich Nikiforov. Doctor of Philosophy, professor at Kozybayev University, and corresponding member of the Academy of Social Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he is a person who has devoted his life to science, education, and the development of the spiritual culture of society.

Colleagues, friends, family members, and grateful students gathered to congratulate the anniversary celebrant. Congratulatory addresses were delivered from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Akim of North Kazakhstan Region Gauez Nurmukhambetov, and the university leadership.

Alexandr Vladimirovich was awarded the medal of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education “Eńbek ardageri” (“Veteran of Labour”) and the badge “Algys” from the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Warm words of gratitude were expressed throughout the event, and many shared memories of working and studying with him, highlighting the significant impact he has had on their lives.

From an early age, he was drawn to knowledge and sought to understand the fundamental laws of the world and human existence. This pursuit led him into philosophy - a discipline that became his calling and destiny. A central focus of his academic work has been the study of religion in modern society, interfaith dialogue, and cultural unity.

Pedagogy holds a special place in his life. For more than half a century, he has been teaching students, inspiring them to think critically, to question, to search, and to discover. Over 50 years of work at Kozybayev University have made him an integral part of its intellectual and spiritual life—a wise mentor, an authority, and an example to follow. His works are widely cited, and his ideas continue to live on in new generations.

Congratulations were also sent from the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Almaty), the Center for Religious Studies (Astana), the Public Foundation “QAMQOR ASTANA” (Astana), the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty), “Qogamdyk Keleisim” of the North Kazakhstan Region, the Department for Religious Affairs of the region, and the Regional Council of Veterans.
