International Experts Share Experience with Faculty and Students

During a meeting between the Chairman of the Executive Board – Rector and foreign scholars from China and Poland, issues of higher education internationalization, joint research activities, and the development of relevant topics for the region’s agricultural sector were discussed. As part of the “Visiting Scholar” program, two international professors are currently working at the Faculty of Agrotechnology.

Yan Yuxin, PhD, Associate Professor at the College of Animal Science and Technology of Northwest A&F University (China), arrived at the university on October 13 and will stay until November 9. During this time, he has been actively engaged in academic work: he prepared and submitted a joint article with faculty members to the international scientific journal Food Chemistry; conducted seminars for faculty members of the Agrotechnological Faculty; delivered lectures for undergraduate and graduate students; and organized professional development courses for teaching staff.

Associate Professor Arkadiusz Sadowski from Poznań University of Life Sciences (PULS) will stay at the university until the end of November. He is also conducting lectures and practical classes for students, holding seminars for faculty members, and working on a joint scientific article together with researchers of the Agrotechnological Faculty.

Both international scholars have visited livestock enterprises in the region that are partners of the university.

“We are honored to welcome you to our university. This is not your first visit to our institution. We have maintained a strategic partnership with Northwest A&F University in China since 2017 and work very closely in the field of research in animal and plant sciences. Joint laboratories have been established. We have also built strong relationships with agricultural enterprises in Poland, where our students go annually for internships and practical training. At the moment, two of our students are in Poland. We were also pleased to host the ambassadors of the Republic of Poland and the People’s Republic of China at our university. We are ready to further develop our cooperation and carry out joint research projects,” said Yerbol Issakayev, addressing the guests.

Yan Yuxin, in turn, thanked the university leadership for supporting Chinese students who are studying at Kozybayev University under academic mobility programs. Currently, 29 students from China are studying at the university.

“We are glad that this is not just a one-time initiative, but a large-scale joint effort: for the third consecutive year, students and master’s students from China have been coming to your university. All necessary conditions are being created for them. In return, we warmly welcome your students. At present, three experts from North Kazakhstan in the field of agriculture are also undergoing paid internships in China. One of them is a lecturer from Kozybayev University,” noted Yan Yuxin.
