Rectors’ Forum with the participation of the President of Estonia

Kozybayev University was among 19 universities in the country participating in the Rectors’ Forum with the President of the Republic of Estonia, Alar Karis.

The event became an important platform for establishing mutual friendly relations in the fields of science and education, as well as strengthening cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Estonia.

The Forum was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, Vice Minister Gulzat Kobenova, the Estonian Vice Minister of Education and Research, Raivo Viental, and leaders of leading Kazakhstan and Estonian universities. Kozybayev University was represented by Chairman of the Executive Board and Rector Yerbol Issakaev.

There was an exchange of best practices in workforce development. The speakers discussed higher education policy directions, institutional strategies, common challenges, innovative and collaborative approaches to teaching and learning, and also the establishment of joint research centers and laboratories. Particular attention was given to cooperation in developing digital infrastructure and implementing AI technologies in the educational process.

Last year, Kozybayev University hosted Jaap Ora, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Kazakhstan. He met with the university staff and delivered an open lecture for students.

All of these are important steps toward strengthening cooperation. We are open to partnerships with educational institutions and companies in Estonia and are ready to carry out cultural exchanges, implement joint research and academic projects, and promote academic mobility and internships for scholars.
