The “Christmas is My Favorite Holiday” Contest Held at the Department of Foreign Languages

On December 2, 2025, the Department of Foreign Languages at Kozybayev University held the student creative works contest “Christmas is My Favorite Holiday”, dedicated to the customs and traditions of English-speaking countries. Responsible organizer - senior lecturer T.N. Korablina

Christmas is one of the warmest and most anticipated holidays, symbolizing family values, a sense of wonder, and the fulfillment of wishes. Such events have become a good tradition of the Department of Foreign Languages, providing students with an opportunity not only to deepen their knowledge of the culture of English-speaking countries but also to demonstrate their creative abilities.

A total of 42 student works were submitted by students of non-linguistic specialties of M. Kozybayev University. The participants presented their perspectives on Christmas traditions, showing creativity, language competence, and originality of thinking.

The works were evaluated by a jury consisting of senior lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages:
N.V. Bubnova, L.A. Beksultanova, and N.P. Sheveleva.

According to the results of the contest, the winners were announced as follows:

• Grand Prix — Kirill Dubik (M(o)-25, IP)

• 1st place — Kristina Yalymova (M(o)-25, IP)

• 2nd place — Margarita Shatova (Ecol-25)

• 2nd place — Ansar Gabdulmalik (Zh-25k)

• 3rd place — Darina Dzhumabay (Zh-25)

• 3rd place — Yana Tsybenko (Ecol-25)

• 3rd place — Aidar Kairov (Yu-25-1)
