Kozybayev University Presented Practical Experience in Promoting Academic Integrity
Inna Dzhemaledinova, Head of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Service at Kozybayev University, spoke as a presenter at a seminar dedicated to the institutionalization of academic integrity in the university environment. The training event was organized by the Academic Integrity League of the Republic of Kazakhstan and held at Esil University.
The first day was intensive and practice-oriented. Participants approached academic integrity not as an abstract ethical concept, but as a manageable system. They examined typical risks and mistakes made by universities in this area, the principles of monitoring by the Academic Integrity League, the role of faculty members in preventing academic misconduct, and other related topics.
The second day of the seminar was also highly productive. Discussions focused on the role of administrative staff in shaping a culture of academic integrity. Participants developed a communication plan to promote academic integrity, including the creation of a dedicated website section, analyzed real cases of violations, reviewed the code of honor, and formulated a three-year plan for assessing academic integrity.
At the conclusion of the seminar, certificates were awarded to all participants by Akerke Ablaikhan, Deputy Chair of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The seminar became an important platform for professional dialogue and the exchange of practical tools for fostering a culture of integrity in the higher education system.
