Comparative ecological testing of foreign varieties of spring soft wheat and the selection of the most adaptive to the soil and climatic conditions of the region
Priority area: scientific research in the field of agricultural sciences

Project manager: Shayakhmetova A.S., Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, e-mail altyn.sh@mail.ru
Project executors: masters Puchkova S.Yu., Takenova D.E., Shakanova Sh.Sh., Amangeldina B.K.
Deadlines for execution: 2020-2023
Amount of funding: 45 000 000 tenge.
The purpose of the project: a comparative study of the production potential of soft spring wheat varieties of foreign and Kazakh breeding in terms of grain yield and quality in the conditions of the forest-steppe of Northern Kazakhstan and the introduction of the most promising varieties into production.
Expected results: the introduction of new varieties of the medium-early ripeness group into production will increase the yield and quality of spring wheat, have resistance to major diseases and pests. Due to the high yield of new foreign varieties in comparison with varieties of domestic selection, with relatively equal labor and money costs, the cost of production will decrease.
Project description: The problems of increasing the sustainability of spring wheat grain production and stabilizing its quality should be solved comprehensively and, above all, at the expense of varieties well adapted to local conditions. In this regard, an important role is assigned to the study of various varieties capable of consistently realizing their productivity potential and varieties of foreign breeding can show significant prospects.
On the basis of the Agrotechnopark of M. Kozybayev SKU in the conditions of the forest-steppe zone of Northern Kazakhstan, a comparative ecological variety testing of varieties of soft spring wheat of foreign selection is carried out in comparison with varieties of Kazakh selection for productivity and quality. For large-scale implementation of innovations, it is necessary to identify the most adaptive varieties to local conditions, with high yields and technological indicators of grain quality for subsequent distribution in farms.
