Expected results: Assessment of the current state of protective forest strips, recommendations for renewal and reconstruction will increase their functional productivity and sustainability.
Project description: The northern region of Kazakhstan, being agrarian, needs protection of agricultural lands from wind and soil erosion. Forest strips, in combination with protective forests, have protective, sanitary-hygienic, aesthetic properties. Work in the field of protective afforestation in our republic has been practically curtailed in recent years. All the created strips are in a neglected state, care work is not carried out for them, and this is one of the main measures for the cultivation of sustainable long-lasting plantings. Other necessary forestry measures are also not being implemented, which immediately affects the condition of the plantings.
