Execution period: 01.06.2024 – 31.12. 2026
Total amount of financing: 29 502 395 tenge.
Project objective: is to study and develop political and strategic recommendations for improving Kazakhstan's state policy in the field of food security in border regions.
Expected results: A new model for managing the food security system will be developed, with a clear delineation of powers and tasks, using forecasting and monitoring methods.
Project Description: The project aims to optimize cross-border trade and develop measures that promote socio-economic stability in border areas through the lens of food security. The mechanism for ensuring a country's food security is largely determined by the state of its border regions, and each region has specific features and conditions, from natural and climatic to socio-economic. These conditions are constantly changing, the needs of the population are increasing, resource opportunities are decreasing, and at each stage it is necessary to improve food security. Even if enough research has been devoted to the problems of ensuring food security, at the same time, there is no single study on the system of state policy for food security in border regions, and there are no methods for analyzing sound strategic guidelines for the development of the system. And also today there is a lack of comprehensive research that would reveal all aspects of state policy in the field of food security in the border regions. Thus, the relevance of this project is emphasized by insufficient coverage of all the components of ensuring food security of the state in the border regions.
