Студент Kozybayev University Ербол Хамитов завоевал первую для Казахстана золотую медаль на Паралимпийских играх -2026. Золотую награду Хамитов выиграл в парабиатлоне на дистанции 4,5 км в дисциплине «гонка преследования» среди сидячих спортсменов. В финале казахстанец показал результат 9 минут 39,0 секунды, допустив один промах на огневых рубежах. Для Ербола Хамитова это уже вторая медаль на нынешней Паралимпиаде. Ранее он завоевал бронзу в классическом спринте на 1500 метров в паралыжных гонках. Ербол обучается в Kozybayev University на 4 курсе по специальности «Физическая культура и спорт». За плечами у него серьезный спортивный стаж. В 2023 году Ербол Хамитов стал чемпионом мира по лыжным гонкам в спринте сидя, а в 2025 г. — чемпионом мира в индивидуальной гонке на 12,5 км и победителем общего зачета Кубка мира по биатлону среди паралимпийцев. Это достижение стало исторической победой для казахстанского спорта спустя 31 год. Последний раз Хрустальный глобус в страну привозил в 1994 году лыжник Владимир Смирнов. И вот, спустя год, Ербол Хамитов покоряет спортивный Олимп и приносит выдающееся достижение для страны – первое паралимпийское «золото»!

Состоялась рабочая встреча представителей АО «НАК «Казатомпром», Kozybayev University и University of Arizona, посвящённая развитию сотрудничества в области науки, технологий и подготовки кадров. Обсуждены перспективные направления взаимодействия в сфере критических минералов, ядерных технологий и новых материалов. На заседании Национального совета по науке и технологиям Глава государства уделил большое внимание развитию отечественной атомной отрасли. Президент подчеркнул, что, в первую очередь, следует повысить кадровый потенциал в этой сфере. Сегодня Казахстан обеспечивает около 43% мировой добычи природного урана, а также обладает значительными производственными мощностями по выпуску редких металлов, включая бериллий и тантал. Казатомпром - национальная атомная компания Казахстана, мировой лидер по добыче природного урана. Сотрудничество с таким глобальным предприятием открывает для Kozybayev University широкие перспективы. На встрече стороны рассмотрели возможности сотрудничества в области ядерной энергетики. Особое внимание было уделено подготовке специалистов нового поколения. Обсуждались вопросы организации стажировок и практической подготовки студентов на производственных площадках, а также реализации совместных образовательных и научных программ. Участники отметили, что взаимодействие между университетами и индустриальными партнёрами формирует новую модель сотрудничества, объединяющую науку, образование и высокотехнологичную промышленность. Такое партнёрство открывает дополнительные возможности для развития передовых исследований, подготовки кадров мирового уровня и интеграции казахстанской науки в глобальное научно-технологическое пространство.

Североказахстанский спортсмен, студент Kozybayev University Ислам Евлоев уверенно завоевал золотую медаль чемпионата Казахстана по вольной борьбе в весовой категории до 97 кг. В финальной схватке Ислам продемонстрировал высокий уровень подготовки, техническое мастерство и волю к победе. Он поборол представителя Астаны Баглана Куаныша со счётом 8:0. Яркое выступление и явное техническое преимущество позволили ему досрочно завершить поединок уверенной победой. Этот триумф стал важным достижением как для самого спортсмена, так и для всего университета. В Kozybayev University гордятся успехами своих студентов и желают Исламу Евлоеву дальнейших побед на национальной и международной аренах!

Scientists of Kozybayev University discussed the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by staff of the Department of Science, members of the Council of Young Scientists, and representatives of research centers. The new Constitution is a solid foundation for our future, responding to the challenges of the time and strengthening the country’s independence and statehood in the context of a changing world. At its core lies the highest value - the individual, their rights and freedoms. The idea of justice, dignity, and protection of every citizen runs as a central theme throughout the document. “The main goal of the upcoming referendum is to improve the country’s legal and political system, as well as to create conditions for increasing the level of justice and equality in society. Thanks to these changes, every citizen will gain more opportunities for direct participation in the process of making key political decisions, which will ultimately contribute to strengthening trust between the population and state institutions,” noted Member of the Executive Board for Science and Innovation Anuarbek Kakabayev. For the first time, special attention in the Constitution is given to education, science, and innovation, opening new horizons for the development of Kazakhstanis, creating opportunities for the self-realization of young people, and forming a solid foundation for the country’s prosperity. “The draft of the new Constitution contains an aspect that is especially important for the academic community - the role of science, education, and innovation in the country’s development. In the text of the document, these areas are defined as one of the value guidelines for the development of the state. In fact, this means that the future of the country is linked not only with economic resources or institutional reforms, but also with the development of human capital - knowledge, research, and technology. For universities, this is an important signal. When science and education are закреплены at the level of the Basic Law, they cease to be perceived as a secondary sphere and become part of the strategic development model of the state. This means that universities are viewed not only as educational institutions but also as centers for generating knowledge, conducting scientific research, and developing innovation,” expressed her point of view Anna Kornilova, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Overall, the scientists expressed their support for the new draft Constitution, emphasizing that it will serve as a guideline reflecting the maturity of society and its readiness to build the future on the principles of justice, openness, and respect for the individual.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, held a working meeting with the leadership of Kozybayev University and the Senior Director for Educational Partnerships of the University of Arizona. The meeting focused on key results and new directions for the development of international academic cooperation between the universities. The Minister was presented with information about the launch of a double-degree program in business and management implemented in partnership with the University of Arizona. This program is an important step in the development of international educational standards and in training a new generation of managerial professionals. The meeting also discussed the launch of a joint educational program in marketing with the American university. The program is aimed at training specialists with modern competencies in market analytics, digital tools, and international business processes. During the event, it was emphasized that the collaboration project between the universities continues to deepen and is transforming into a strategic comprehensive partnership. Today, it goes beyond purely academic interaction and covers a wide range of scientific areas. Joint research is being conducted in the fields of materials science, food security, chemistry, water resources, and ecology. The universities are forming a sustainable international scientific and educational platform aimed at developing advanced research, training world-class specialists, and integrating Kazakhstan’s science into the global academic space.

University students were introduced to the short films “Not Bookmarks” and “Hooligan Girl”, which address the consequences of drug-related crimes and causing serious harm to health. The event was held within the framework of the “Law and Order” initiative with the participation of representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of the North Kazakhstan Region. Young people often encounter offers of “quick money” distributed through social networks and messaging apps. Low legal awareness, the influence of peers, and the illusion of “anonymity” increase the risk of becoming involved in illegal schemes. The screening of the film “Not Bookmarks”, based on real events, is intended to help students develop practical models of safe behavior. Today, systematic prevention of aggression, bullying, and psychological pressure is also becoming particularly important among young people. The desire to be accepted, fear of isolation, peer influence, and the need for self-assertion can lead to participation in bullying and violent behavior. Such films clearly demonstrate the mechanisms behind the formation of aggressive behavior and highlight the importance of personal responsibility. After the screening, the students took part in a discussion, shared their opinions, and listened to representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of the North Kazakhstan Region.

These days, Kozybayev University proudly follows the success of our student Yerbol Khamitov on the international stage. Today, at the Winter Paralympic Games in Milan–Cortina, Yerbol won the bronze medal in the para cross-country skiing 1500-meter classic sprint (LW12), finishing with a time of 2 minutes and 29 seconds. This achievement is not only a sporting victory. It is an example of strength of spirit, perseverance, and self-belief. Yerbol has proven that hard work, discipline, and determination can lead to the highest results. We are sincerely proud that Yerbol Khamitov is a student of Kozybayev University. His success inspires our entire university community and serves as a shining example for the youth of Kazakhstan: there are no barriers for those who pursue their dreams! During his visit to the North Kazakhstan Region, the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, met with the region’s youth to discuss the opportunities opened by the new Constitution. Students of Kozybayev University took part in the meeting. “The new Constitution provides young people with a space of opportunities. It is based on the principles of justice, the rule of law, and equal opportunities, under which every young person will be able to realize themselves through knowledge, hard work, and initiative. The draft of the Basic Law enshrines the priorities of education, science, culture, and innovation, as well as guarantees of freedom of creativity and protection of intellectual property. This means that supporting talented, educated, and proactive youth becomes a strategic priority for the country’s development. At the same time, it is important that young people deeply understand their own responsibility, realize the scale of the current historical changes, and actively participate in the public life of the country,” noted Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev. During the meeting, a second-year student of Kozybayev University and President of the Student Government, Asanali Zhanatuly, shared his opinion on the draft of the new Constitution. According to him, the life of modern youth is closely connected with social networks. Therefore, special attention in the draft Constitution is paid to the protection of citizens’ personal data, which is an important and timely step. He also noted that the constitutional amendments identify human capital, education, science, and innovation as priority areas for the country’s development. In his opinion, educated and responsible youth can make a key contribution to the sustainable development of the country. Another student, Dariga Smailova, head of the regional branch of the youth organization Assembly Zhastary in the North Kazakhstan Region, also shared her view on the draft Constitution: “For young people, it is especially important that the document emphasizes the role of an active and responsible citizen. The development of the country is impossible without respect for the law, public order, and the personal responsibility of each individual,” she said. Dariga Smailova also emphasized that the younger generation is increasingly participating in social and environmental initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of careful and responsible attitude toward nature. In her opinion, such values as responsibility, unity, and care for the future of the country fully resonate with the principles set out in the draft of the new Constitution.
