Today, a large-scale environmental campaign, “Taza Kazakhstan,” took place across the republic with the participation of the Head of State. Students of Kozybayev University, Amir Agzamov and Aruzhan Yermukhan, had a unique opportunity to personally take part in tree planting together with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Over the past two years, the “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative has evolved into a powerful nationwide movement, bringing people together around key values: environmental care, cleanliness, and the improvement of the surrounding environment. Kozybayev University also actively supported the campaign: the university’s leadership, faculty, and students jointly planted around 60 trees along the student alley, including spruce, linden, and lilac. Such initiatives are not just a contribution to greening efforts, but an important step toward fostering environmental awareness and responsibility for the future of our country. Together, we are creating a clean, green, and sustainable Kazakhstan!

Students Semyon Labodryga and Gleb Nos won 1st place as a team at the XVIII Republican Student Subject Olympiad in the field of “Special Pedagogy”! The intellectual competition was held at A. Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University in Kostanay. The students emerged as the best in a highly competitive contest among 14 teams from different regions of the country. The competition consisted of two stages: participants presented a project titled “SocioQuest” and completed a test to assess their theoretical knowledge. Our winners demonstrated in practice a high level of professional training, motivation, creative potential, and research skills. Gleb and Semyon are studying under the dual-degree educational program “Special Pedagogy and Inclusive Practice,” implemented in cooperation with a strategic partner - the University of Arizona. This achievement is yet another confirmation of the effectiveness of the internationalization strategy of universities in the country. The development of partnerships and the launch of joint programs with leading global universities yield tangible academic results and contribute to training competitive specialists. We congratulate the students and their academic supervisor, Senior Lecturer B. Bekbolatova, on this significant achievement! We wish them new academic victories, inspiration, and the successful realization of their boldest projects!

On the eve of May 1, Kozybayev University hosted the festive event “Student Spring,” dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz. Faculty members and students gathered in the main square, where creative groups performed and sports competitions were held. The festival of spring and youth - “Student Spring” - symbolizes not only the awakening of nature, but also the beginning of new achievements. Spring is a time of creation, when each of us feels a surge of energy to pursue even the boldest goals. The event combined the wisdom of national traditions with the energy of the modern generation. “Students from different regions and nationalities study within the walls of our university. It is in this diversity that we see our strength, our wealth, and our future. Today, the university is a space of knowledge, development, friendship, and mutual support. We are proud that young people not only receive a high-quality education, but also carefully preserve national traditions, respect their culture, and maintain continuity between generations,” noted Chairman of the Executive Board - Rector Yerbol Issakayev. On this day, the winners of the creative competition for decorating campus classrooms for Nauryz Meyramy were also awarded. The evaluation focused not only on decoration, but on the ability to create an atmosphere of warmth and unity in every corner of the university. Today, a landmark event in education and technology took place in Kazakhstan: with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, 14 pilot Tomorrow School projects were launched simultaneously across the country. As part of the initiative, around 2,000 students will have the opportunity to study in a new format focused on hands-on practice and modern digital skills. A particular point of pride is that Kozybayev University is among the project participants, becoming one of the key platforms for implementing this innovative educational model. Tomorrow School is a unique artificial intelligence (AI) school based on the peer-to-peer learning principle. This approach emphasizes student development through active interaction, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving. The learning process is built on real-world cases and is aimed at practical mastery of IT, programming, and AI technologies - without traditional lectures or instructors. Key features of the program: No classical teaching system - learning through teamwork and mutual support; Free participation in an offline format; 24/7 access and a flexible schedule; Opportunity to enroll without prior programming experience. The launch of Tomorrow School is part of a large-scale national initiative to develop artificial intelligence and drive digital transformation. The project aims to shape a new generation of IT professionals capable of working with advanced technologies and creating innovative solutions. For Kozybayev University, participation in this project is an important step toward developing a modern educational environment where students become active participants in the learning process, build critical thinking skills, and acquire in-demand competencies for the future. Today, knowledge in IT and artificial intelligence is no longer just an advantage - it is a necessity. From Petropavlovsk to the very heart of the southern regions and back - across steppes, mountains, and 6,800 kilometers of road. The team of Kozybayev University has completed its unprecedented expedition aboard the branded bus “SERPIN WAY 2.0.” This large-scale project has become a vivid example of how education can unite regions, bridging the gap between cities and the most remote villages. Since March 31, a team of 24 people - including faculty members, students, public figures, and career center experts - has been engaging in a meaningful dialogue with the future of our country. The caravan’s route passed through seven regions of Kazakhstan (Karaganda, Zhetysu, Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Turkistan, and Aktobe). The team visited 14 cities, 16 villages, and district centers - reaching places where quality career guidance is especially valuable. In total, around 120 events and meetings were held. The key outcome: more than 13,000 school students received information about their future. Importantly, the main goal was not just to inform, but to provide real support in choosing a life path and career direction for high school students. More than 1,800 parents also took part in the dialogue. Special attention was given to the “Serpin” program, which over the past 10 years has become a powerful social mobility initiative. Kozybayev University has been an active participant since 2014, having graduated more than 1,400 specialists during this time. For young people from the southern regions, the team’s visit became a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about scholarships, admission requirements, innovative academic programs, and vibrant student life. They discovered that in Petropavlovsk it is possible not only to earn a Kazakhstani diploma, but also to receive a world-class education, including dual-degree programs with the University of Arizona. An equally important fact for prospective students was that the university provides 100% of non-resident students with comfortable dormitory accommodation. Kozybayev University launched the SERPIN WAY caravan for the second time. Last year demonstrated a strong start: the project attracted more than 130 new students from the southern regions to the university. This year’s scale has taken career guidance to a fundamentally new, systematic level. The journey has become a true bridge of opportunities, connecting the dreams of young people with the prospects of the northern region.

More than 30 participants from 8 university teams representing Astana, Almaty, Semey, Karaganda, and Petropavl gathered for the V Republican Olympiad for students of pedagogical specialties, “Abai’s Legacy in 21st Century Pedagogy.” Last year, the team from Kozybayev University became the winner of this olympiad held in Ust-Kamenogorsk, which gave our university the opportunity to host this year’s creative and intellectual competition. According to the rules, however, the host university’s team competed вне конкурса this time. The olympiad was dedicated to the great Kazakh poet, thinker, and mentor Abai Kunanbayev. His legacy is multifaceted and inexhaustible, a sacred treasure of the Kazakh people. No matter how much is said or written about Abai, his works and ideas will continue to inspire new generations of researchers and young people for years to come. This year’s competition brought together knowledge, art, and creative exploration. It consisted of two stages. In the first stage, participants presented short theatrical performances based on historical, literary, or real-life situations that reflected Abai’s pedagogical ideas. The second round, “The Teaching of ‘Tolyk Adam’ as a Model of the Modern Educator,” required participants to deliver concise and meaningful presentations in a TEDx format, exploring this concept. According to the results, the winner of the olympiad was the team from Shakarim University, which confidently completed all stages of the competition, demonstrated the highest level of skill, originality, and professionalism, and was awarded a prize of 200,000 tenge. Congratulations!  

The traditional student olympiad “Pedagogical Aitys” has concluded at the university. It was held for first- and second-year students enrolled in педагогical specialties. The mission of the olympiad was to strengthen the positive perception of the teaching profession, demonstrate students’ professional competencies in pedagogy, and reveal their professional, personal, and creative potential. The event was organized in the format of a quest, where at each stage participants completed various tasks - from presenting their teams to solving tests and demonstrating both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Not only knowledge, but also creativity was evaluated. It is worth noting that teacher training at our university has been conducted since 1937. Over the years, thousands of specialists have graduated and now work in nearly every school across the region. Since 1992, the Pedagogical Aitys has evolved from a good tradition into a true chronicle of the development of national education. This year, the winners were the teams “Pedsovet” (Institute of Language and Literature, RL-24-1) and “Dream Team” (IYa-24-2k). Second place was awarded to the teams: “Til Sheberleri” (KYaL-24k), “C.O.R.E.” (KhB-24k), and “Pedagogical Vanguard” (Institute of Language and Literature, IYa-24). Third place went to: “Skill Up” (Pedagogical Faculty, SPIP-25, NOIP-25, PvO-25), “Otkendin Izbasarlary” (Io-24k), “NewSana” (IYa-24-1k, IYa-24-3k), and “Uly Dala Geographtary” (Go-24k). A literary and musical evening titled “Manash Kozybayev – a towering figure in historical scholarship” was held at the university museum to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the outstanding scholar. The history of Kozybayev University dates back to 1937, but the year 2003 became especially significant for us - this was when the university was named after Doctor of Historical Sciences, академician of the National Academy of Sciences, and prominent statesman and public figure Manash Kozybayev. Since then, every step of the university has been inseparably linked with the name of this great individual. The ceremonial event brought together scholars, students, as well as representatives of the literary and musical club “Sana.” “We closely cooperate with Kozybayev University. Our mission is to promote the creative heritage of our renowned writers, poets, and musicians. Today, we are taking part in an event dedicated to Manash Kozybayev, who left a profound mark on the country’s history. His legacy is extremely important for the younger generation,” noted Altynai Syzdykova, head of the “Sana” literary and musical club. Among the speakers was also Professor Zhanar Talaspayeva of the Department of Kazakh Philology, who emphasized the significance of the academician’s works for modern Kazakhstani scholarship. The highlight of the evening was the performances by university students. Young talents demonstrated that the image of the academician inspires them toward sincere creativity: poetry and musical pieces filled the hall with an atmosphere of solemnity and springtime inspiration. The academician’s legacy is not only archival documents and monographs, but also a moral compass for the modern generation. For the university’s students, the name of Manash Kozybayev symbolizes integrity, diligence, and boundless love for the Motherland. By studying his biography and works, young people learn the most important lesson: to know their history - thereby standing firmly on their feet and looking confidently into the future.  

Kozybayev University, in collaboration with the University of Arizona, continued its participation in the national educational exhibition Study in Kazakhstan. This time, representatives of the universities visited the southern region of the country, including the cities of Almaty, Kaskelen, Taraz, Shymkent, Turkestan, and Kyzylorda. The exhibitions demonstrated strong interest from school students and their parents, with more than 22,000 prospective applicants attending the events. During the meetings, participants received detailed information about educational programs, admission requirements, and the advantages of studying at the university, including opportunities for double-degree education implemented in partnership with the University of Arizona. Participation in the Study in Kazakhstan exhibition enables the university to expand the geographical scope of its career guidance activities, increase its visibility, and attract motivated applicants interested in obtaining high-quality, internationally oriented education.  

School students from all regions of Kazakhstan who arrived to participate in the Republican Subject Olympiad at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Petropavlovsk visited our university. The Open Day brought together about 170 students from grades 9–11. The participants познакомились with the academic programs of Kozybayev University and double-degree programs with the University of Arizona. They also enjoyed a vibrant creative program, interacted with students, and explored the university’s laboratories. In addition, the school students met with university faculty and learned more about admission requirements, academic programs, grants, as well as study and living conditions in comfortable dormitories. Each faculty and student organization presented their activities. We hope that our young guests will soon join the ranks of Kozybayev University students!
